Piano Lesson

Piano Lessons

Every piano lesson will teach you how music works in a simplistic, fun and memorable way. This means that you'll learn how to play piano really well, but also you have the knowledge to transfer to any other instrument too! Your lesson will include some music theory, scales and pieces. Younger students earn fun prizes for WOW moments in their lessons. These reflect their efforts in theory, practise and technique! This encourages further achievement through consistently positive feedback.

Regardless of your age or ability, you will be able to read music in a handful of lessons and, according to my current students, you'll enjoy it too! :)

You choose your music! It is your lesson and learning the piano should be inspiring and something to look forward to every week! I'll do my best to accommodate your taste in music and we will build a portfolio of music for you which you can play.

All students are able to enter Trinity and ABRSM piano exams and can study for their Arts Award Discover and Arts Award Explore, certified by Trinity College London. We are an Arts Award Centre because I believe students should learn about music as a form of human expression. Sometimes we will be inspired a poem, a painting, or a piece of music. This helps students to produce an original performance and develop as an artist from an early age.

All piano lessons are ONLINE only using Zoom.

The teacher

I'm a full time musician, working as a piano teacher in a busy online studio. I've played piano since the age of 4 and studied it to a high level. I'm a qualified early years practitioner with DBS clearance. I'm a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts through my music work. Most importantly though, I LOVE what I do and I'm passionate in sharing that with you! You can read more about me in the 'About Vanessa' section.

I specialise in teaching beginners to intermediate level.

From original composition, to classical music, film scores and beyond...

I write music for piano and I encourage my students to compose if they are interested in doing so. We can also explore various genres of music together, taking a journey of musical exploration through each lesson. You choose what you want to play!

Student concerts!

Twice a year there are performance opportunities for ALL students. I believe in making music inclusive and accessible. Every student is invited to take part in our seasonal concert which is usually a sell-out!

The cost

Lessons start at £40 a month for a half hour lesson.

Minimum age

Students should be aged 4 upwards. This is so that students have the dexterity and focus required.
